Accountabilities

As the Head of Scientific Tools and Solutions, you will develop a multi-year strategy for our project portfolio, ensuring its successful implementation. You will be recognized as a technical strategic expert, defining the vision for scientific tools in collaboration with peers across the organization. Your role will involve coordinating the development and optimization of scalable tools demonstrating machine learning, rule-based models, informatics solutions, and data workflow automation pipelines. You will also lead a global scientific informatics and software team, influencing and driving projects and teams. Your excellent communication skills will be crucial in demonstrating the strategic value of applying AI/automation to senior executives.

Essential Skills/Experience
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related quantitative field 
• Ability to influence in a complex matrix environment
• Prior experience within the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry inclusive of therapeutic drug research or development
• Demonstrated experience with data analytical approaches and tools
• Excellent software development skills, including Python and Java
• Expertise in data modelling and SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with automation strategies (CI/CD etc), multi-cloud cloud platform (AWS or similar) and containerisation (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, and consultancy skills
• Experience with GxP software development and testing

Desirable Skills/Experience
Exposure of working on Scientific Software for Early stage Drug Discovery & Development.
